Full Roof Replacement in Tinley Park with IKO Dynasty Shingles

Tinley Park, Illinois Roof Replacement
Product usedIKO Dynasty

When a roof reaches the end of its life, it’s the perfect opportunity to upgrade not just the shingles, but the entire system that keeps a home protected. This Tinley Park project was a complete exterior refresh from top to bottom.

IKO Dynasty Shingles in “Summit Grey”

At the heart of this project is a full roof replacement using IKO Dynasty shingles in “Summit Grey.” Dynasty is one of IKO’s premium architectural shingle lines, and the manufacturer builds it around a few standout features: their ArmourZone technology, which IKO describes as a reinforced band that strengthens the nailing area for better fastening and wind performance, and their Weathermaster color blends, designed to give the roof rich depth and dimension.

The “Summit Grey” color gives this home a clean, versatile look — a neutral tone that pairs well with just about any siding or trim while adding a fresh, modern feel.

A Complete System Upgrade

A roof is only as good as the components around it, so this project went beyond shingles. We also completed:

  • Skylight replacement — refreshing the seal and framing to prevent leaks and let in clean, natural light
  • Gutter system replacement — ensuring water is channeled away from the roof and foundation properly
  • New soffit and fascia — completing the perimeter with a crisp, finished edge and proper attic ventilation

Together, these upgrades ensure the whole roof works as one system to protect the home for years to come.

About IKO Dynasty Shingles

Dynasty is part of IKO’s architectural shingle range. Like other laminate shingles, it is manufactured in multiple bonded layers, which contributes both to its dimensional appearance and to its wind performance relative to three-tab products.

Wind resistance in any shingle depends on installation as much as on the product. Nailing placement, starter course at the eaves and rakes, and correct ridge treatment all affect how a roof performs in the straight-line wind events common across the Chicago area during summer.

Manufacturer warranties generally require that the components of a roofing system be installed to specification, which is one reason system components are typically matched to the shingle line.
