A Full Exterior Transformation: Peppercorn Roof Meets English Wedgewood Siding

Some projects are about replacing what’s worn out. Others are about reimagining a home entirely. This one was the latter — a complete exterior overhaul that touched every surface from the ridge down to the fascia.

Owens Corning Duration Shingles in “Peppercorn”

The centerpiece of this project is a full roof replacement using Owens Corning Duration shingles in a bold “Peppercorn” finish. Duration shingles are built around what Owens Corning calls SureNail Technology — a reinforced fabric strip in the nailing zone that the manufacturer says provides a stronger grip and better fastening during installation. Owens Corning also highlights the shingles’ wind resistance and their Tru Definition color platform, which uses multiple shingle colors and depth of shadow to create a more dimensional look on the roof.

Peppercorn delivers exactly that — a deep, dramatic tone that anchors the whole exterior.

Siding, Gutters, Soffit and Fascia

A roof rarely works alone. This home also received new siding in “English Wedgewood,” a soft blue-gray that plays off the darker roof beautifully. New Adobe gutters provide a warm finishing accent, and new soffit and fascia complete the perimeter with a clean, sharp edge.

The result is a timeless, high-contrast exterior that’s as durable as it is attractive.

Details That Add Up

Every color and material on this project was chosen deliberately — not just for how it looks on day one, but for how it protects the home over the long haul. From the roof down to the finishing touches, this project showcases the quality craftsmanship and attention to detail that Rosales Roofing brings to every job.

Roofing and Siding as One Project

Roof and siding surfaces meet at the fascia, the rake and the step flashing along walls. These transitions are among the more common points of water entry on a home, because they depend on two different assemblies being detailed to work together.

Completing both at the same time allows those transitions to be addressed as a single system. It can also reduce overall disruption, since access, staging and cleanup are handled once rather than twice.

Owens Corning Duration is an architectural shingle line; James Hardie and comparable fiber cement and engineered wood siding products are commonly paired with roofing work of this scope. Colour pairing between roof and siding is best evaluated on the building itself, in daylight.
